Hers To Cherish (Verdantia #3)Hers To Cherish by Patricia A. Knight
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

One of my favorite aspects of the story, aside from the smoldering sexual chemistry between Steffania and Ramsey, is that it’s edgy. Bad things sometimes happen to the characters and it gives the story weight amidst all the sinfully sexy encounters… not irreparably bad and the hero and heroine always recover, but other characters aren’t always so lucky and this is a nice counterbalance to the romantic thread. Plus, you can’t have a gladiator book based around D/s sex without some violence and cruelty… and without some good ole gratuitous smut!

The setting of Hers To Cherish is a planet called Vxloncia that closely mimics ancient Rome, from gladiators and slaves to opulent wealth and architectural splendor. Ramsey’s title on Vxloncia is Dominus and oh how appropriate that really is. The man is a natural at both physical combat and sexual domination, and exudes confidence all the time. His skill with Shibari rope bondage is tantalizing and brings a whole new aspect to the story. These encounters between him and Steffania are intensely engaging and exciting beyond your typical romance scenes.

Hers to Cherish is achingly sensual and features some exciting action and combat. It can be read as a standalone, so you don’t need to read the previous books in the series if you want to start here. Recommended read!

I have the second one in this series to read. It looks like each book is going to take on slightly different themes. Thanks for sharing!

You know, I read the first one then this third one. I liked them both so I need to go back and catch up on #2! And I hear some of the characters from these first three books may make reappearances in the once coming up as secondary characters. Love it when authors do that!
