Midnight Breed Week & Giveaway (US): Meet Nikolai

by davincikittieJune 19, 2012

Name: Nikolai

Age: Came of age during the Cold War so probably around 60 years old.

Physical Description: Tall, athletic, sandy hair, angular features, piercing ice-blue eyes, dimples when he smiles.

Special Powers: Nikolai can control and mutate plant-life.

Personality Type/Quirks: Nikolai is a gearhead- guns, gadgets and everything in between; extremely protective, tender, and honorable. Doesn’t like the “n” word- nice.

Spotlighted in: Veil of Midnight (Midnight Breed series #5) by Lara Adrian

Mated to: Renata

Memorable Quotes:

“When I look into your eyes, one word leaps to my mind everytime: Forever.”
~ Nikolai to Renata, Veil of Midnight

He was on his knees before this female, and he’d gladly stay there for the rest of his life.
~ About Nikolai, Veil of Midnight

Extra info: Niko is described as brash and that translates into his love life too because when he falls in love with Renata he jumps in with everything that he is….and that’s a lot. He loves with his whole being and will do anything for her. He also has a quick wit and is just generally a fun guy to be around. This quote shows it well:

He was sitting there staring at her hair, for crissake. Not just staring, but staring with total rapt fascination. To Niko, that seemed to indicate one of two equally disturbing facts: Either he should seriously consider looking into night courses with Vidal Sassoon, or he was a complete goner when it came to this female.
~ Nikolia, in Veil of Midnight

I can think of things to do with the power to control plant life!

I’m loving this series so far just based on these Alpha males you’re showcasing. 🙂 I’d probably use his power to have beautiful and vibrant flowers throughout my house that lasted forever.

How can you not love Niko especially when he not only took Renata as his mate he accepted Mira and loved her as he would his own.

If I had Nikolai’s power I would have one awesome garden :). I’d also use the power to get plants to grow in arid regions so less people starved.

A big thanks to Christi Snow for representing Niko!

Niko and Renatas book is one of my favorites in the series. They are both such badasses, it’s a thrill to read through all the action scenes. And I love Renata’s gift too, how she can paralyze Breed. And Mira… there are definitely things in the works for her!

Niko & Renata’s book is probably the one with most action. I really enjoyed their story, they complement one another like no other couple.

I love gear heads! It is interesting that he can control the most delicate of creation and yet, be a gear head! 🙂

The Breed are some of the most sexy males I have read about in a long time… So much so that every once in a while I have to reread the series….

Niko’s gift would be perfect for this time of the year. I love gardening, but am not that good with plants. ;D

I really enjoyed this book because of Niko’s personality and I enjoyed how he appreciated Renata instead of being intimidated by her strength.

I would love Nikos power, heck I would love to just be able to keep a plant alive let alone make it grow or mutate :O)

To be able to control plant life would be a power I could really like.
I don’t have a green thumb and I can really kill plants quickly. With this power, I’d be able to keep them around a little longer to enjoy.
Nikolai has great attributes even if he doesn’t like the nice word. 🙂

I can tell my summer is going to be great since I am planning on reading this series. I have all of them but a couple waiting for me already 🙂
I am really interested in how Nicolai can alter plant life, that is cool.

Least fav book of the series. I really liked the main characters but the book, for me, was boring.

I just love Niko! He is so much fun. He always makes me grin like a little school girl! He is such a devoted friend, too. I loved the way he stood up for Rio in Midnight Rising even though he was pissed off at him, too. Renata was the perfect mate for Niko.

With Niko’s powers a plant might actually live in my care!!!! =) Loved his story too, he just seems like he would be very fun and one of the best people to have at your back!
