Midnight Breed Week & Giveaway (US): Meet Kade

by davincikittieJune 20, 2012

Name: Kade

Age: Younger than three hundred years old, the age of his uncle Maksim.

Physical Description: Spiky raven, jet black hair, golden skin, penetrating, hypnotic, silver eyes, erotic, otherworldly dermaglyph tattoos of variegated hues across his arms, shoulders, torso, and thighs.

Special Powers: Ability to connect psychically with predatory animals and direct their actions with a single thought.

Personality Type/Quirks: Kade is wildly passionate, intensely caring, and has a fiercely protective nature. He knows the difference between right and wrong and even though he feels his parents are disappointed in him for joining the Order, the real reason he left the Darkhaven was to flee from the darker nature of his brother, not wanting to rat his brother out.

Spotlighted in: Shades of Midnight (Midnight Breed series #7) by Lara Adrian

Mated to: Alexandra Mcguire

Memorable Quotes (from Shades of Midnight):

“If this were Siberia,” Kade added once the street got quiet again, “our balls would be jingling like sleigh bells and we’d be pissing ice cubes. Boston in November is a picnic.”

“It’s about ten below out there. A man could freeze off something vital,” he said, having the nerve to quirk his lips into an amused half smile. “My clothes are inside. As you can see, I wasn’t dressed for company. Or for a shoot-out on the tundra.”

“I walked. On snowshoes, of course.”

“You asked me in the bar if I was a good guy or a bad guy,”…”That’s not my call to make, Alex. Maybe you’ll find I’m some of both. The way I look at the world, everything is just a different shade of gray.”

Extra info: The dynamic between Kade and his brother Seth gives Kade a vulnerability that sets him apart from the other breed males. The constant internal struggle to protect his brother has the reader sympathizing with him, wanting to comfort him after he kicks his brother’s butt of course. In addition, his ability to connect with animals is very intriguing. It developed sort of a shifter aspect to a series that is vampire driven.

Ooh I like this power. No scary animal don’t attack let’s be friends instead.

I would love to have his power if I could use it to talk to my dogs. I would make taking them walking so much easier!

LOVED his power! What I wouldn’t give to be able to get my dog to stay out of the toilet!
This is one of my favorite Breed books. Kade is honorable and passionate. A perfect warrior!

Kade is the type of guy your mom told you to stay away from. He is totally HOT. If I could talk to animals I wouldn’t need a security system at home LOL.

This sounds like ti will be a great book. The ability to communicate with animals would be great. And I am interested in reading about his struggles with his brother.

This particular story was the one I had the hardest time getting into because it didn’t seem to have the focus on Kade and Alex so much as having them almost have separate storylines most of the time. I did like Kade. I wouldn’t mind having his ability to figure out my cat’s behavior and control it sometimes. 😀

I think Kade is amazing. I would use the power to help train animals to not jump on me :). They all think I’m a toy or something to play with. Must be because I’m tiny.

Kade was super awesome! Alex was kiss-ass! I love that the series left Boston for Alaska! Love the scenery and the wolf pack Kade ran with! Great book!

Kade almost seems like half Breed and half Were. I liked this book a lot, but I agree with Sophia Rose that it was probably the most difficult story to read. For me, it just didn’t have that same connection as the rest of the Breed. Perhaps because Kade is so new to the Order? I don’t know, but I still enjoyed it. I just missed the other guys in this one. The other books have more of a group connection than this one did. Fortunately, Kade is hot enough that it made the story enjoyable in its own right!

I havent read any of the Breed books, but I must say I like the idea of the warrior in this story being paranormal who knows the difference between right and wrong.

If I had his power, I would probably use it to lead endangered animals to a protected area…really the possibilitie are endless with a power like this!

Thanks so much to Rina from Darhk Portal for representing Kade!

Kade’s power would come in handy when out in the wilderness or walking down the street! He could send angry dogs off for a swim instead of them eating your leg for lunch! 🙂
Imagine what a relief it would be to have this power if you encountered a bear…a hungry bear!

Kade sounds like my kind of man. I’d love to see his glyphs, it would be so cool. I like his power, being able to connect to predatory animals, I believe it could come in handy some day. I’d so like to meet Kade.

Read Kade’s story in about 4 hours it was so good!! His power in my house could be very useful beings as I have 3 dogs, 3 cats and 3 kids, it would be a nice feeling to know I could get 6 out of the 9 (10 if you count my husband) to obey me.

This is such a cool power that I do not think I would be able to resist using it to help out animals so that they could avoid getting killed in the wild or hurt by vehicles. I would definetly change my profession. I enjoyed this book and the struggles Kade had with his family.
