The third installment in the Redwood Pack series, Trinity Bound can easily be read as a standalone novel. Those familiar with the series will recognize Reed as the middle son of the Alpha of the pack. As the middle child in the family, Reed has no real place or position, he has no doubt that his family may have put in a cursory attempt to rescue him, but have since given up. His only comfort in his captivity is the other prisoner in his cell, a witch named Hannah. Alone, tortured, neither has any hope of every getting out alive.  Enter Josh… unsure why he is having visions of these two strangers, but positive that they need him, as he sets out to find them and save them.

Three people, each with very different personalities – how could they possibly make a relationship work? Can their desire for each other be enough to base an entire life-long relationship on? I found the confusion and anxiety between the characters refreshing. In a turn for the realistic, they didn’t just jump in to bed together and say damn the consequences. They anxiously thought about it and what it would mean to be in a triad relationship. The anguish was especially apparent between Reed and Josh. For poor Josh, who up until he met Reed had never been attracted to another man, the anxiety is amplified. Mix in some action, a fierce battle in the wilderness and enough characters from the previous books popping in and you’ve got a book you do not want to miss.

Carrie Ann Ryan has somehow managed to take what would normally be considered a taboo relationship, a relationship between two men and a woman, and made it acceptable. More than a mere ménage story, Trinity Bound is filled with love, anguish and scenes hot enough to fog up your reading glasses. Readers will fall in love with the taboo relationship between Reed, Hannah and Josh.

Memorable Quotes:

Finally becoming part of a family…

“You may not have completed the mating, but you are our family now. We don’t let go of what’s ours. So you’re stuck with us regardless”

Realizing what you really want in life…

Josh and Reed. Together. In their trinity bond. Forever. She wanted the whole package. The marriage, the kisses, the children, the late night feedings. Everything.

A difficult request to fulfill…

“I need your word, Reed. Kill me if you have to, but don’t let me hurt anyone.”

If you liked Trinity Bound…

I really loved this story! It is probably my favorite in the series so far, though I am anxiously awaiting Maddox’s story. 😉
Wonderful review! I totally agree with you on the Josh an Reed relationship. I like how she made Josh uncomfortable/confused but not disgusted with his attraction to Reed. And Hannah definitely has her hands full with them both.
    Thanks for sharing, IMP.

I’m glad you enjoyed the review. I’ve read the books out of order so I pretty much already know where it’s all going, but I have to agree that this one has got to be my favorite out of the entire series so far. Emphasis on so far. lol
