Book Tour: Walking With Shadows author Julieanne Lynch is all about Antoine!

Welcome Walking with Shadows author Julieann Lynch as she chats about her favorite hero, Antoine!

There are many things I love talking to my readers about, but there is none more exciting than my creation of the delectable Antoine Vilniv.  Out of all my characters from my series, he is the one who stays consistent in my eyes.  He is fun to write about and he is even more fun when I accidently incorporate him into my everyday tasks – yes, slightly crazy, but it helps me further his development as a strong character.

One thing I love about him is his honest to God concern for Giselle.  There is nothing untoward about his genuine worry about her well-being and that is more than obvious in Walking with Shadows.  Their entire relationship has evolved to something more than friendship, it is stronger and they both become dependent on each other.

Of course, there is always inner turmoil in such relationships, and Giselle is still coming to terms with the loss of Leonid – an ever present entity in her mind – and in a sense, she feels that if she loses herself to her growing feelings for Antoine, she will ultimately end up with more than another broken heart.

Antoine, a perfect gentleman under his true monstrosity can sense Giselle’s unease, and fights a hidden battle with his true intentions.  Every other creature in the Underworld is after Giselle and her unborn child, and if he really wanted to, he could easily have joined the chase and used her to his own end. Instead, he chose to step up and take charge of a life altering situation spiralling out of control, and as you read through Walking with Shadows, you will gain a better understanding of the kind of man Antoine is.

Another alluring attribute about Antoine, and this is something I love writing about, is his obvious sexual confidence.  He slyly portrays himself as innocent and somewhat inexperienced, BUT underneath, his manly worldliness shines through.  He knows how to work Giselle into a fluster, and he has such a strong magnetic personality, that he is hard to ignore. This becomes more apparent in Walking with Shadows.

Creating such a strong, gorgeous, and confident character makes the whole writing process an enjoyable experience. Yes, of course there are days when you just feel totally deflated, and find the inspiration a touch dire, but somehow, having a strong male lead such as Antoine pulls me out of the black pit and inspires me to continue.

What can my readers expect from book three in three in the series?

Hmm, all I can say is that things hot up, things get harder and life certainly throws a curve ball or two in Antoine’s direction, but do you want to know something? I think he will thoroughly enjoy the ride; after all he is in this for the long haul.

Walking with Shadows

By Julieanne Lynch

“Walking with Shadows” is the second of The Shadows trilogy, an urban fantasy of vampires and the supernatural, and much, much more.

Giselle regains consciousness and is horrified to discover she has been asleep for nine weeks. She was already aware that she was carrying a very special baby who was to be the first of a new race of vampires, but she is shocked to find how her pregnancy is progressing. Around her, the underworld is in turmoil.

Vampires battle with creatures of darkness and with other vampires, and few are entirely what they seem. More confusing still, those who appeared to be totally evil may have a streak of goodness in them, and those who appeared to be Giselle’s friends may have a darker purpose of their own. Almost anyone, it seems, can be changed and turned, except possibly Ysoriel the Archangel and the goddess Lilith, and Giselle cannot be sure that even they are interested only in her welfare.

The only certainty is that it will all become very much worse before it begins to get better – if anything ever gets better for Giselle.
