Book Tour & Giveaway: Meet Jennifer James’ Miri & Daniel from Hunger Embraced!

by davincikittieDecember 7, 2012

We have a very special guest for you today. If you don’t yet recognize the name Jennifer James, you may know this author as “The Captain”, a reviewer known for her wit and colorfully entertaining prose. Ms. James was one of the first to join the GraveTells review team and her posts quickly gained a fan following. If you’ve read any of them, you know why! Now imagine that free-spirited creativity turned loose on a full-length novel… or, even better, let us give you a taste!

In less than a year, Jennifer James has published three stories with two different presses. Today is the launch for the book I have been impatiently awaiting the chance to share with all of you: Hunger Embraced

Please help me give a warm welcome to Ms. Jennifer James in her very first appearance on GT as a published author!

Hi! Thanks for having me on GraveTells today. It’s sort of weird, to be here as an author, and not a reviewer. In any case, I’m excited to be kicking off the tour for my erotic paranormal romance HUNGER EMBRACED stuffed full of vampires, demons, witches, and crazy goddesses here on GT. Today I’m going to introduce you to my heroine Miranda and hero Daniel. Miranda is going to interview her guy for y’all…and I have a feeling shenanigans are going to ensue. Take it away Miri!

Just to let you guys know, I’ve been chasing this stubborn ass vampire all over the condo trying to get him to sit down and answer some questions but he’s been avoiding me by cleaning. So I left a few things out in the bathroom and a few dishes in the sink. His OCD is going to send me straight for the looney bin. I finally lured him to the kitchen with dark chocolate M&M’s.

Miranda: So, Daniel, are you a natural blonde or you got a hard-on for peroxide?

Daniel: Lowers his chin to his chest and gives me a cocky half-smile. You know the answer to that. The proof is below the belt.

M: Heat rises to my cheeks and I squiggle in the kitchen chair. Hey, you never know. People do some weird stuff with their bits and pieces.

D: True. Well, if you need further proof, I’m happy to show you again.

M: I root out a few jellybeans from the bag on my lap and pretend to ignore him, but every nerve ending is taut with arousal and anticipation. Later. I’m supposed to be interviewing you. Now, why are you  so obsessed with cleaning? I’m not *that* messy.

D: He snorts and pops an M&M into his mouth, then leans his elbows onto the table as he chews. I spent some time in a monastery a long time ago. I find cleaning to be a restful exercise. And, you *are* that messy.

M: Am not. I cross my arms and lean toward him. A monastery? Really? Why?

D: He shrugs. I needed a break. He brings his hand up toward my mouth and slips a piece of candy coated chocolate past my lips, pushing his fingertips inside enough to graze my tongue. The ever-present scent of the ocean that clings to him intensifies. Why don’t we continue this later?

M: I make short work of the candy and shake my head. Mmm…. Can’t, I promised.

D: Tugs his shirt off over his head to reveal a tanned, sculpted chest with a small patch of blonde curls in the middle and abs with a tantalizing strip of hair that disappears into the waistband of his shorts. He begins to rip the shirt into strips. Are you sure?

M: The play of his muscles in his chest and arms as he destroys the shirt captures my attention. What are you doing?

D: You’ll see soon. He puts his hand palm up on the table and waits until I place mine in it. Other one as well.

When both of my hands are in his he grins, and his irises light up with power. Daniel wraps my wrists in a strip of the cloth, tying it off in a knot. My heart beat accelerates and I suck in a deep breath, my lower body swelling.

M: This is new.

D: I promised you that I had more things to show you. Now then, come with me.

He tugs on my bindings and I get to my feet. I’m happy to follow wherever he’s leading. Sorry peeps, this interview will have to wait for later.

So, I’m sure some of you are wondering, if these people are vampires, how the heck are they eating and breathing? Let’s just say these guys aren’t dead or undead. They’re very much alive.
