Book Tour & Giveaway: Caridad Piñiero on sexy stories & characters that come alive

Please help me welcome bestselling author Caridad Piñiero!

As a writer, you want to challenge yourself to try different things with your writing so that you can grow.

THE SHIFTER’S KISS and GHOST OF A CHANCE were both challenges for me and a lot of fun.

Both books are novellas and writing shorter stories that had complete and satisfying romance/ story arcs in such short works was a lot of fun.  That was especially true of GHOST OF A CHANCE since it had a mystery element that had to be resolved as well.  In GHOST OF A CHANCE, a true crime writer is asked to gather with other specialists, like a psychic and private detective, in order to solve an eighty year old cold case.  It was a challenge to weave in the mystery elements, but it was a lot of fun.

I was worried at first as I was writing the novellas because of the length, but as I got really involved in the stories, I found that the characters came alive in a way that took much longer with my full length novels.  I also found that the stories almost seemed to write themselves since I had to focus on the hero and heroine without the distraction of secondary story lines.

THE SHIFTER’S KISS was also demanding because it was an erotic paranormal romance.  While I usually write hot stories, writing an erotic story was quite different.  The level of sensuality had to be greater, but also, the eroticism had to fit the romantic arc.  For me it’s a lot sexier when there is an emotional relationship between the hero and heroine.  That really ups the sexiness of the story for me.

In THE SHIFTER’S KISS, there was the added challenge of describing what it might feel like to be a shark shifter who lives under the sea.  I love the ocean and I wanted to be share that love with readers by depicting it in a unique way.  I hope that if you read THE SHIFTER’S KISS, you will feel as if you are under the waves of Nali, the last of her race.

Thanks for taking the time to drop by and good luck with the contest for the Double Trouble blog tour!
After almost losing his life in the line of duty, firefighter Victor Edwards turned to his true passion: the ocean, the one place he feels at peace. By day, he studies a magnificent shark. By night he is haunted by erotic dreams of a beautiful woman, filled with a longing he can’t understand.

Nali is almost the last of her kind. She knows it’s dangerous to swim so close to shore, but she is drawn to the scarred man watching her and craves his touch on her human form. She can’t help revealing herself to help Victor when he’s injured—and offering herself to him for one week of pleasure. For she only has a few days before she must return to the sea…
