Book Spotlight and Giveaway (US/Int): Getting up close and personal with bad boy Dom Finn from Dangerously Inked (from the Midnight Ink Box Set) by Eden Bradley

by davincikittieNovember 28, 2013

When the tattoo artist Finn lined up for his visit to New Orleans turns out to be the mysteriously alluring sub he played on New Year’s Eve at The Bastille, the city’s BDSM club, more than his skin will be marked forever—and Rosie is just the woman to bring this playboy Dom to his knees.

Midnight Ink Box Set

Please help us welcome the lovely Smutketeer Eden Bradley to GraveTells!

DANGEROUSLY INKED, my story in the Midnight Ink Box Set collection, with authors R.G. Alexander, Sidney Bristol, Mari Carr, PG Forte, Robin L Rotham, Carrie Ann Ryan & Jayne Rylan, was an awful lot of fun to write! I’d already written Book One in my Dangerous Romance series, DANGEROUSLY BOUND, out in April from Berkley Heat, and Finn, the hero in my Midnight Ink collection story, made his first appearance in that book. He was the hero Mick’s friend from Atlanta. This is a BDSM-themed series, and both the men—all the men in this series!—are Dominants. And let me tell you, when I write strong Doms they have a wicked tendency to boss me around, and Finn was no different! He is not the kind of Dom you can sass. Or…I should say *I* can’t. Rosie may be a different story…but then, she’s tougher than I am.

But back to Finn Carter. Finn caught my attention as I was first writing him. He’s a giant of a man who usually requires two and three and four women in a night of play at his home BDSM club, 2112. But he’s been through a life-changing experience, and he wants to learn to live his life differently, which worked perfectly with the theme we set for the Midnight Ink collection: new beginnings for the New Year. I can’t say more without giving the story away, but let’s just say there’s ink and kink and sex and romance. And tattoos. And New Orleans. Yeah…all that stuff…; )

Meanwhile, let’s get to know Finn a little better…

[heartlist]

  • Character’s name: Finn Carter
  • Character’s age: 36
  • He’s from: Melbourne, Australia originally, but has been living in Atlanta for a number of years.
  • Favorite foods: A good steak, piles of pasta—all of it in plentiful servings! He’s a ‘take life in big bites’ kind of guy!
  • Favorite music: Anything dark and head-banging: Motorhead, Godsmack, Nine Inch Nails…
  • Most hated fashion accessory: Finn hates to wear a watch. First, it breaks up the Maori tribal tattoos covering his arms. Second, he prefers to live life moment to moment.
  • His favorite kink: Really anything that involves a pretty girl under his command. Could be steel cuffs and shackles, a blindfold, a flogger, but his favorite kink involves chains. He loves the primal quality in binding a woman in chains—the cold steel, the weight of it bearing her down, the clinking sound that makes her shiver…
  • Quote from Finn—this is SO him!: “I’m going to hurt you, pretty girl. For one last time, do I have your consent?”
  • Tattoos: Both arms are fully sleeved with black Maori tribal work, as well as surrounding the scars on his left leg from an accident years earlier. In DANGEROUSLY INKED, Rosie does a black and gray memorial tattoo on his chest of a koi transforming into a dragon—a common theme in Japanese tattoo work that represents a personal transformation.
  • His tragic past: A series of losses that have made him want to live every moment to the fullest, but he’s been going about it the wrong way. Don’t worry—Rosie will set him on the right path!

Read an excerpt

“Finn?” Mick’s tone grew more serious. “She’s not one of your usual subbie girls. She won’t go down without a fight, so don’t expect it of her.

But when she does…well, you’ll see.”

Finn raised an eyebrow. “I must admit I’m intrigued.”

“Come on and I’ll make the introductions.”

Mick led him past the couples and groups already utilizing the play space, and he breathed in the familiar scent of leather, took in the low cries and moans beneath the ambient music. These places really were home to him, where he felt most alive. That familiar tingle was just beginning, a small, electric thrill running just under his skin. Now to see this girl his friend had spoken so highly of. Surely she couldn’t be that good…

“Finn, meet Roison.”

He said it as ‘Rosheen’, a good Irish name if he’d ever heard one.

He paused. Blinked. She was fucking beautiful, alright. Beyond beautiful. Tiny thing, with one of those waif-like bodies, except that her breasts were full and round, almost too large for her delicate tattoo-covered frame.

The ink was spectacular. In a roving glance, he took it in—a mantle of roses and thorns around her shoulders and collarbones, meeting in the center with a darkly, ornate cross. On one arm was a flight of doves crossing over a life-size set of rosary beads—all of it black and gray work with touches of red on the beads. A lot of finely-done script over her ribcage on one side. Amazing ink on an amazing body.

Amazing girl…

His gaze went to her gorgeous, full breasts. Her nipples were covered with two perfect ‘X’s’ done in black electrical tape, indicating a boundary, the only thing she wore other than a black lace thong. Well, he’d see about that. After he looked at her face.

Fuuuuck.

The only other word that came to mind was ‘exquisite’. Not a word he thought to use often, but hell, nothing else would do. Heart-shaped, he thought it was called, with big blue eyes—like sapphires, they were, the lashes long and dark beneath perfectly arched black brows. Her hair was black with streaks of blue running through it, falling in waves around her bare shoulders. But it was her mouth—a lush slash of red—that really got him. Made him want to kiss the lipstick off her, to suck in the soft flesh.

He went hard.

Oh, yeah, that was a good sign. Maybe Mick was right about her, after all. Because he could fucking just look at her all night.

Except that he had every intention of doing more. A lot more.

I bought this anthology already, but after reading that excerpt, I can hardly wait to get home and fire up my ereader.

I have no tattoos, but I have no issues with others having them. My sister has seven or eight, she says they are addicting. I think strong, sexy young men looks good with them, if they are tasteful (like Maori designs) and well done. It will be interesting to see how they look on old men gone to fat in about 30 years since the big tattoo craze. If I got a tattoo, it would have to be meaningful to me and I can’t think of anything quite right for something permanent.

I have two tattoos but my fav is actually in the back of my head. I got it just before I had my head shaved for the St. Baldrick’s Childrens Cancer research foundations raise and shave event. I am very proud of that one. It is their logo which is a green four leaf clover

Tattoos can be hot, but they can be trashy as well. It depends on the person (their attitude and how they present themselves) and the ink. I don’t have any ink, but I’ve thought about it. Just haven’t found something that I think I wouldn’t hate in a few years time.
