Quick Book Review: Sex, Wolves and Rock ‘n Roll (Lyric Hounds #3) by Mina Carter

Sex, Wolves and Rock ‘n Roll by Mina Carter

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I saw this story featured on a 1 Night Stand newsletter and couldn’t resist the rock star – werewolf – male/male triple threat. Sex, Wolves, and Rock n Roll is a standout quick read, packing a lot of history and emotion into a short, memorable story. If you’re a fan of rocker romances with hot preternatural heroes and enjoy a little guy-on-guy action, definitely pick this one up!

Micro-Review: Bridge (A Shade series short story) by Jeri Smith-Ready

I picked this up as a quick filler read to get a feel for Ms. Smith-Ready's style and was completely sucked in by her artistry. Without giving too much away, seeing as how this is a short story and uncovering the story nuances are half the experience, Bridge is a short story in the larger Shade universe about setting things right and not giving up on the people who matter. It's written song-style, as if it should be sung or read aloud to be fully enjoyed, which is something I've never seen before in this genre of literature (which, loosely, would be Young Adult edging toward New Adult) and it leaves behind a lingering poignancy and melancholia. I'm not usually one for ghost stories but [...]

Micro-Review: Mate by the Music (Shifters & Bikers #3, a The Edge short) by Rebecca Royce

This installment had a slightly different feel than the others did for me, and not at all in a bad way. Instead of a crowded bar where the two characters see each other and immediately seek a little privacy, we have an empty bar with a little spontaneity. Scott and Nancy have a hot, but softer chemistry (though still with that wolf shifter edge) and their story is sweet and oddly romantic. It’s just plain sexy as hell. As always, the book is too short, but this time it only leaves you wanting more in the best way.
