Stalking your next book boyfriend is easier than ever #IndieMonth2017 #giveaway
GraveTells has a brand new look, and it’s perfect for finding your next book boyfriend!
Discovery Week of #IndieMonth2017 is all about new ways to find books you’ll love, so let’s take a tour of the new GraveTells for all the must-see new features that will make your search easy.
DON’T MISS GIVEAWAYS: TWO $25 Amazon Gift Cards, a Venetian mask, ebooks, & jewelry (bottom of post!)
The top menu is packed with filters!
In the mood for a pulse-pounding urban fantasy romance? The new menu system will take you right to our latest reviews!
If you’re using a desktop or laptop browser, you can hover your mouse over the top menu icons and a list of related books will drop down. Mobile users may not be able to see this menu, depending on your screen size. Clicking a category name (like “Urban Fantasy”) on the dropdown will show you only those books. Click a book cover to read the review. Or, click the “go to (category)” link to see a blog archive with only those reviews.
Pretty cool, right? Where this gets really powerful is letting you quickly and easily see GT’s Top Picks and award-winners, like Book of the Month, Book of the Year, and Readers Choice winners. Follow the same instructions as in the screenshot above, but use the Recommended Reads top menu icon (a heart) instead. Notice how there’s a “Reader Faves” category under “Recommended Reads”? More on that later!
Magazine panels show you top recommendations
If you’re on a phone or tablet, the magazine panels on main pages will be your best friend. These show three sections: Popular Now, The Latest, and DaVinciKittie Recommends. You can find these panels by clicking on most of the top menu icons. Try clicking Book Reviews from the top main navigation. It should load this page… (notice you can see the same categories here as on the on-hover drop-down top menu)
Popular Now shows what other people are viewing, liking, commenting on, and sharing. The Latest shows the most recent post in this category. DaVinciKittie Recommends lists featured posts and reviews, and the ones marked as “Top Picks” are our highest-scoring recommendations.
Say you’re still looking for that Urban Fantasy read. Clicking the category here will take you to the blog archive with those reviews.
Reader favorite books have higher heat ratings
Once you click through to a book review, you’ll notice a little flame with a number beside it. That tells you how popular the review or article is with you guys, the GraveTells readers. The more a post is shared, liked, commented on, and interacted with, the higher its flame rating.
Why is this important?
Both the Popular Now feature (in the magazine panels shown above) and the Trending widget on the sidebar show you the books with the highest flame rankings. Click through and see why readers are loving them!
There are tons more ways to find books you’ll love on GT
…but that’s enough to keep you busy for a while!
Sneak Peek!
Remember way back in 2013 when GraveTells awarded monthly Reader’s Choice awards to books and authors? I am SUPER STOKED to announce that later this summer, we’re bringing it back! And those little flame ratings I showed you above are the way we’ll choose the winners.
So if you’ve got a favorite author or book already featured on GraveTells, go to that post and like, comment, share, and have fun with it! The more you interact, the higher its heat rating, and the better chance it’ll make the Trending list and win an award. PS – Try practicing in the “What’s your reaction” area below! To see the changes your interactions made to the “trending” rankings, click here and look at the left sidebar.
Go forth and find awesome, sexy new book boyfriends!

Love the emails I get from Grave Tells – so informative and learn about new authors. Also, love the birthday gift she sends!! <3
Thank you, Betty!! *hug* I love hearing that. I’m so glad you stopped in to chat! <3
I like historical romances! Thanks for the amazing giveaway!
Thanks for stopping in, Suz! Have you read the Mallory series by Johanna Lindsey. Pirate James Mallory was one of my first (I think my VERY first!) book boyfriends, and I blazed through that entire series. I don’t read many historicals these days, but I have some very fond memories of them! <3
The new menu is really useful! It’s also veeeery pretty.
I love romance: historical, contemp, paranormal, fantasy, some new adult, I’d also add urban fantasy… I read almost anything
Thanks so much, Aly! *hug* I love it too. More fun features are coming! <3
I love Grave Tells and all the wonderful authors it brings to my inbox. Thank you for the great books and book boyfriends.
Thank you, Michelle! *hug* Sharing book boyfriends is one of my most favorite things. So glad you’ve found some to fall in love with at GraveTells. <3

Hello!! xx new subbie here can’t wait to see some new stories thank you for doing this giveaway
Thanks so much for subscribing, Susanti (great name, btw!)! I’m looking forward to chatting more with you on future posts! And shout out if you have any requests for reviews. I’m always looking for new-to-me reads, even if they aren’t new to the market. =)
WHAT :”) omg I don’t really like my name but thank you so much <3 I'm looking forward to chatting with you too! <3 I have a few want-to-read books but they're all very old :/
Awesome books and giveaways. Thanks for a chance to win.
This is the first time I have encountered this giveaway entry format. I have to say that I like it better than rafflecopter. I like the website too although it might take me a few days to get through all of the information 🙂
Thanks Beth, I think so too! I switched over to Giveaway Tools several years ago and I (mostly) like it much more than Rafflecopter. There are a few little quirks on the setup side that RF is better at, but overall I’m happy with GT. And I totally feel you about needing time to go through all the info on GraveTells! We’re six and a half years old now, so there’s tons to see! I’m hoping to get it all cleaned up soon. Apologies for any mess you see in the near future! The new theme switchover was a doozy! 😉
Love the website and entered the giveaways and thank you for the chance 🙂
Thanks, Debra! Good luck!! <3
New menu seems quite high tech. I enjoy reading paranormal and historical books, but I read a little bit of everything.
Paranormals are my thing too (I guess the name of my site is a giveaway, eh? 😉 ). I used to read historicals a lot. I was a SUPER FAN of the Malory Family series by Johanna Lindsey. I miss them sometimes, but I only have so much time in the day to read! Haha.
Really like the website-so much information! Newbie here and thanks for the giveaways.
So glad to have you, Rita! Good luck in the giveaways, and enjoy poking around the new site! <3
Thank you for having such an ecclectic blog, it’s great not seeing thesame stuff over and over again
Thank you, Diana!! <3 I totally agree. If I’m showing the exact same content as 100 other blogs, what’s the point, right? I’m really loving the chance to post some original content during #IndieMonth2017. I’m looking forward to talking about blogging next week. Hope to see you back!
stopping by again haha:)) have a fantastic day!! xx
*wave* hi again, Susanti!
Love Lexi Post’s newsletter!!
I LOVE all kinds of romance books as long as there is a HEA and an interesting story I will read it!
That HEA is super important, I totally agree. That’s why I read romance and not generic fiction. I NEED the guarantee! Sometimes the story gets lost in too much romance, and that’s part of why I started GraveTells—to help guide readers to the types of stories they will love. I hope you enjoy the recommendations around the site! <3
Thanks for the chances!
Thank you for having these contests.
I would SO love to win that gorgeous mask! My birthday is the 1613th so that would be an AWESOME birthday ‘gift’!
Thanks for all the great authors and reads you send
Thanks so much, Melinda! <3 I have some stellar new finds coming up in July and August that I cannot WAIT to share with you guys.
Wow, impressive improvements to the site, congrats, and thanks for the giveaway!
Thanks so much, Elf!! <3 So glad you stopped in today! Hope you enjoy the rest of the event.
I love all the messages and chats with gravetells and guest. Will be stalking and very excited to get it on. So far i am loving the books and the giveaways. Haven’t won a giveaway yet, but always a chance. That is what makes it fun. Love this indie month and lets start stalking the next boyfriend. I’m all in 😛 This author is epic and this site.
Hehe, YES! I am all about stalking new book boyfriends! And I never miss a chance to enable a new friend to come along on my crazy adventure. =P Thank you SO MUCH for the kind words and can’t wait to see you around GraveTells! <3
