Dressing up Ari from The Last Awakening with author Rachel Firasek & an ebook Gìveaway
Let’s give a big, warm welcome to Rachel Firasek, author of The Last Awakening!
Hello everyone, I thought I’d try to help Ari prepare an outfit today, but she’s being uncooperative. I hear that Grey keeps taking off everything she puts on, so I sent the love-sick-fool on an errand and asked her to join us. After a verbal assault in a language I couldn’t understand, she finally agreed.
Ari: I’m only agreeing to do this so you don’t write me into spinsterhood. I almost have Grey ready to pop the question, I don’t need the likes of you to screw it up for me.
Me: Better watch it sister. I can hit the back key and he’ll forget how much he loves to watch that tattoo dance.
Ari: *lifts a brow at me and flicks her hair behind an ear* Shall we do this, mon amie?
Me: You ready?
Ari: Oui. First, I’ll grab the skirt that Greyson wouldn’t let me zip.
Ari: Then, we’ll add the pretty blouse Ice gave me for Christmas.
Ari: And, of course, I wouldn’t be caught anywhere without my leather boots—with a spiked heel to give me that lift I need.
Ari: And, if it’s still cold out, then I’ll add my favorite leather jacket.
Ari: Viola, my ensemble is complete. If we don’t hurry, we won’t be able to get out of here before Grey gets back. He won’t let me keep these clothes on. He thinks that I get dressed just for him to have some fun.
Me: Ari, I’m so glad you are now appropriately attired. I apologize for writing you a man that has such demanding needs.
Ari: *throws her head back and laughs* “You better not apologize to me. I haven’t had this much fun in 300 years.

So, now that you know what Ari looks like on any given day, I’d like to know if this is something you would wear? I’m curious. I think my characters dress better than me. 🙂
Happy Holidays!!!

Rachel Firasek grew up in the south and despite the gentle pace, she harassed life at full steam. Her curiosity about mythology, human nature, and the chemical imbalance we call love led her to writing. Her stories began with macabre war poems and shifted to enchanted fairytales, before she settled on a blending of the two.
Today you’ll find her tucked on a small parcel of land, surrounded by bleating sheep and barking dogs, with her husband and children. She entertains them all with her wacky sense of humor or animated reenactments of bad 80’s dance moves. She’s intrigued by anything unexplained and seeks the answers to this crazy thing we call life. You can find her where the heart twists the soul and lights the shadows… or at www.rachelfirasek.com. |
Lol! Rachel you are too cute!! Ari’s not too shabby either, and Grey…… Yummmmmm!!!!!
I adored this book, fantastic!
Rhonda, you are the cutie. Thank you!!! Grey was yum!
Fun character interview and the excerpt really hooked me in. Would love to read the whole book. The idea of a phoenix as a PNR heroine is quite unique- congrats!
As to Ari’s outfit- I would love to dress that stylish, but I do not have the body for it. A girl can dream- *sigh*
Thanks for the posting and for the giveaway opportunity.
Ah, thanks!!! I love the phoenix story. Good luck!
I do not have the legs for that skirt or the boots, so no, I would not wear that outfit.
Kathryn, I hear ya! I’m the same way. I get to dress pretty through my characters.
This was a really fun guest post! Thanks for being so creative Rachel! I always like getting to know the characters better like this than in a traditional interview format. I’m looking forward to reading about Ari and Grey!
Thank you. I try to find ways that aren’t completely over-done and yes, I love changing it up from the normal interview. 🙂 Ari was a very distinct character. She’s a lot of fun to play with.
Congratulations to Sophia Rose on winning the ebook of The Last Awakening! All those contest entries have finally paid off, Sophia! *wink*
