Book Tour: My Immortal, The Vampires of Berlin by Lee Rudnicki

Wolf’s head was spinning. He sat down and tried to make sense of the unfolding situation. An hour ago, it was incomprehensible that Germany might win the war. Now, he wasn’t so sure. “What do they want with Eva?” he asked.
“The creature they call Eva is the last reincarnation of a vampire goddess, destined to rule our kind for 700 years. Heydrich learned of the vampire prophecy before the war; Badalgar helped him ascertain the location and birth date of the chosen one. The SS searched Romania for two years until they found her. Until I found her for them.”
“Why did you help them?”
“Hitler made a very tempting business proposal. The elders realized the true nature of whom they were dealing with and wisely turned him down. Unfortunately, I was not so perceptive. I sold my soul to the devil for my own greedy purposes. The balance of nature was affected.”
“This has nothing to do with the balance of nature,” Wolf replied bitterly.
“This has everything to do with the balance of nature. Vampires and humans have coexisted in Europe for centuries. We took only what we needed and your senseless wars affected us no more than did the rain. That equation changed when the Nazis deciphered the prophecy.” Vlad wheezed. “At first, the war that began in Poland seemed like all of the wars that preceded it. But the Nazis are different. They kill for the sheer sport of killing. But they also need to kill. Adolf Hitler’s thirst for blood will not be quenched until all life on this planet is extinguished. The Nazis are the embodiment of true evil. Their very existence is a crime against the Earth.”
“We can fight them,” Wolf replied.
“With Eva, they are invincible.”
“She won’t help them.”
“Her free will is of no consequence. After Hitler’s death, they will channel his soul into Eva. When the prophecy is fulfilled, Adolf Hitler will control legions of vampire warriors throughout Europe. The Channel won’t save England this time. It won’t even slow them down.”
Wolf was shocked. By bringing Eva to Prague, they had condemned humankind to centuries of terror and death at the hands of the Nazis. The senseless killing wasn’t going to end. It was about to get much worse.
The vampire that the terrified Romanian villagers had named Vlad the Impaler over 600 years ago pitied the human being who prayed and wept in front of him. His race was doomed. They all were.
“Eva …”
“Is the Tristan weapon,” Vlad said, finishing Wolf’s sentence for him.
