Logan in concert is a spine-tingling, heart-pounding, groupie-inducing experience, and I jammed along with every second of it! The synergy of the concert scenes and the way Anna comes back into his life is well written and carries energy, momentum.

The bass line vibrated in my chest, and watching Logan interact with the crowd had me tied in knots somewhere between proud, jealous, and extremely turned on. When he got to center stage on the final verse, his eyes met mine, and just for a moment, time stood still. The crowd, the band, the lights, they were all gone. It was just us. The hunger in his eyes, the love, lust, and yearning, had me aching to get the hell out of the audience and make love to him in the wings between songs. I suddenly understood groupies a little more.

In contrast to the Logan we’re treated to on stage, his wolf pack responsibilities and story arc are darker and angstier. His life as a shifter is no game and it wars with his vulnerable artistic spirit. Vivianna is an excellent match for him, not only because they’ve loved each other since pre-school, but because nothing deters her. Every challenge she faces makes her more determined and every fear she experiences drives her to overcome. Anna is a strong complement to Logan, both as a rock star and as a shifter. She’s smart, sassy, driven, and likable.

“When Luke and I stopped playing team sports in high school, we started training to patrol our territory. We learned to fight, shoot, and defend ourselves and our pack.”

I sat beside him. “That’s what I want.”

He met my eyes, and this close it was impossible to miss the regret on his face. “Nothing prepares you for the first time you have to take a life. And once you do, there’s no going back.”

Blue Moon is a memorable, heartfelt read in Lisa Kessler’s Moon series. You could read it as a standalone, but because it’s so far into the series, you’ll get more out of the story if you’re at least a little caught up. I started the series at Ice Moon* (book #5), and had no trouble jumping right in! Or, pop back to the start of the series and start with Moonlight*.
