This unique book kept me awake into the early hours of morning because its sensuality and mostly light hearted tone left me unable to put it down. Invoking a wide range of emotions that include laughter, anger, and fear, and driving you deeper into the story with compelling characters and nail biting plot lines, Strange Academy is a must read!

Micro-Review: Damaged by H.M. Ward

There are so many surprise crack-up moments in this story that I literally laughed out loud every 30 minutes. It swings between a dark gravity and a light-hearted comedic adventure. The relationship between Sidney and her best friends is straight up hilarious and oh so heart-warming. It made me long for my own college days and wish we'd had our own impromptu Abs of Steel competitions. Dr. Peter Granz is a handsome mystery, full of smooth comebacks and intelligent perception. Living up to the book's title, both he and Sidney are damaged, and it's very intimate feeling when they circle around the things that have happened to them and how they still cope with it.
