Deacon (Gideon’s Riders #2) by Kit Rocha #BookReview #EroticDystopian

Deacon introduces what will likely be the through-plot for the Gideon's Riders series, and gives a vulnerable peek into the Riders' fearless leader and his shadowy past. This story world, this sector that survived a world apocalypse and a brutal civil war, sets the example for the kind of harmony and community we could have if only we stopped judging and killing each other long enough to give a damn. Deacon is a recommended read for anyone who is already a fan of the Beyond or Gideon's Riders series, values diversity and acceptance, likes hot sex scenes and heart-pounding action sequences, and enjoys stories set in dystopian, post-apocalyptic worlds.

Scorpius Rising (Scorpius Syndrome #0.5) by Rebecca Zanetti #BookReview

Deacon McDougall is a man born in the wrong century, a highland Scot with the pulsing heart of a warrior and the driving determination of a great leader. Time and distance apart from his ex-wife Nora Medina hasn't dulled their spark, nor his need to keep her protected, cherished, and—most importantly—close by. Nora's work as a microbiologist for a private company conflicts in just about every way with Deke's special forces military and government work, but where there's smoke there's fire, and these two have both in spades. Scorpius Rising is the start of a new series, The Scorpius Syndrome, by author Rebecca Zanetti, set in a world that follows the spread of a pandemic from Patient [...]

Book Review: Being Sapphire (New Atlanta #2) by Sylvia Ryan

*** This review is SPOILER-FREE! Read on with confidence! ***

As I finished the epilogue for Being Sapphire (available on Sylvia Ryan’s website) – tears literally streaming down my face – all I could think was “Wow. Just, wow.” What a great story, in what is shaping up to be a truly epic series. Considering this is only book #2 of what is likely to be a trilogy – and being such a big fan of scifi and fantasy, where a story arcing over a mere three books long is barely considered a series – I don’t use the word “epic” lightly. If you haven’t read Being Amber, the first book in this [...]

Early Featured Book Review: Strain by Amelia C. Gormley

Even though this story features a lot of sex, it's not ABOUT sex or even about a D/s lifestyle. It's about fighting for survival and the life-affirming connections you make with the people you trust to have your back. It's about brotherhood and love and making the best out of a hard life, and it is haunting... absolutely beautiful. The emotional depth is so tangible, Strain is both heartwarming and endearingly painful, from vivid adrenaline-packed start to aching, bittersweet ending. Definitely a must read for fans of male/male romance!
