Betsy Dornbusch, author of Sentinel: Archive of Fire, on demons, darkness, & anti-heroes

I was asked an interesting interview question the other day: What inspired you to write about demons? The quick and dirty answer is I like bad-ass characters who do the wrong thing for all the right reasons and get violent doing it. They’re just… cool. Urban fantasy has tons of brilliant anti-heroes, and I’m thrilled to add mine to the population. But none of that really answers why.

SyFy’s Being Human renewed for a second season

BH fans, rejoice!  SyFy has renewed its American version of the hit BBC series Being Human for a second season.  Fans who can’t get enough of Aidan (the vampire), Josh (the werewolf), and Sally (the ghost) will be relieved to know they’ll get to see a lot more of the humanity-challenged trio next year. 

According to Reuters.com, SyFy’s BH “has averaged 1.8 million viewers so far in its first season, making it the cable network’s most successful winter scripted series launch in six years.  Syfy is also touting “Being Human” as its most female-skewing series to date, with women making up 53 percent of its viewers.”  [...]

SyFy’s Being Human is a supernatural hit!

SyFy’s new supernatural hit series Being Human is a tale of love lost and lives changed forever, as a trio of unlikely roommates tries to conquer their troublesome natures and just learn how to be human.

Aidan, the vampire, is a 200+ year old immortal who has parted with his maker and coven and is trying to stay on the straight-and-narrow and keep from “feeding live”. (If this series had come out last year, Aidan would have been on my Top 10 Sexiest Vamps & Weres of 2010!  Shame.)

Josh, the werewolf, has run away from everything he knew and is trying to reconcile his new situation with the happy life he left [...]
