Thoughts:
First let me say, if you have not read the previous books in the series, you really need to. Although a great book, you will quickly find yourself lost if you haven’t first read book four in the series, Her Guardian Angel. In book four we are introduced to Veiron, the Hell’s Angel who isn’t. Now we find ourselves embroiled yet again in the game between Heaven and Hell, this time with Veiron as one of the main characters. Although he is a Hell’s Angel, I couldn’t help but like his character and couldn’t be happier that he now had his own book. When last we saw Veiron he was fully cognizant of his role in the game and not the least bit happy about it. Now, a year and a half later, we revisit the once Guardian Angel to find many things have changed.
I have to admit that Veiron is exactly the way I pictured he would be… a big, sexy bad boy with an honorable core. This is why Erin is the perfect match for him. Not the least bit frightened of the Hell’s Angel, she gives as good as she gets. On the run from Heaven and Hell, non-stop action ensues as these two try to stay alive while fighting the explosive attraction they feel for each other. Erin earns both Veiron’s respect and admiration along their journey. To be honest, she earned mine too. I loved the give and take relationship between Erin and Veiron. He’s a Hell’s Angel and she could care less who he serves so long as she gets a piece of all that angelic hunkiness. The sparks between these two is evident and practically explodes off every page.
My only complaint had nothing to do with Erin and Veiron and everything to do with Amelia. Heaton veered the character to the point that I no longer found her likeable. If anything she started working my last nerve on more than one occasion. And personally, I would have been tempted to turn her in to either Heaven or Hell just to shut her up.
With an action packed storyline and a sometimes sweet, sometimes explosive romance, this book is a definite must read.
Memorable Quotes:
Never heard being promiscuous described quite this way before…
“How long has it been? Double figure years that take us back to before you were born. Don’t give me that look. I am an angel… immortal? Ring any bells?”
Bad boys always make it sound so sweet while still being macho…
“You know, I thought you hadn’t been wearing much when I first met you, but this little number… fuck, do I want you when you look so sexy… and I want to kill every man who is looking at you… because you’re mine, Erin.”
Oh My! Wow does that man have a way with words…
“… tell me you’re mine. Tell me you’re only mine and I’m the only one you want in all the three realms.”
“Tell me and I will swear to you that I am yours, now and forever.”
If you liked Her Demonic Angel…
If you enjoyed Her Demonic Angel and love a good book with a strong alpha male with a soft side for the right woman, don’t miss Caris Roane’s Obsidian Flame, a story about magic, passion and loving someone enough to give them the freedom they crave no matter how much you want them to stay.
