Giveaway (US/Int): Meet Rosalie Lario’s divinely irresistible Fallen Warrior angels

by davincikittieSeptember 10, 2012

Please help me welcome GraveTells’ 2011 Debut Author of the Year, Rosalie Lario!

Hi everyone. Today I’m here to talk about the fallen angels in my paranormal romance series, The Fallen Warriors. I think pretty much everyone is familiar with the biblical creation myth featuring angels and fallen angels. In the bible, angels are servants of Heaven, and fallen angels have been banished from Heaven for disobedience to God. It’s an interesting story, and one that’s been used as fodder for much fiction.

While thinking up The Fallen Warriors series, I knew I wanted to use angels, but not in the biblical sense. So I twisted the mythology. Rather than servants of Heaven, the angels on my world are a race of beings from an alternate dimension. They are forced into our world when the walls between the dimensions collapse.

Once the angels realize they are forever stuck in our world, they convince humans to allow them to rule over Earth in exchange for peace and security…the ultimate utopia. But in reality, their designs on Earth are far more sinister.

The heroes of my series are a group of angels who seek to protect mankind. Because of this they have been cast out of their society and condemned to die. They are Fallen.

The Fallens’ determination to stop the other angels from eradicating mankind, and this is the series arc that pulls each story forward. I knew I wouldn’t be able to resolve this huge plot point in one, or even three, novellas, so the entire series (currently planned to be six books) revolves around the Fallens’ attempts to protect humans. Ultimately, it will culminate in war against the angels.

Each of my novellas is a complete story featuring a Fallen finding his mate in the midst of preparation for battle. Read on for more about the first three books in this series:

In a world where angels rule over humans, twelve outcasts dare to defy expectation, warring with their angel brethren to prevent the extinction of mankind.

They are The Fallen…

For Love of an Angel, Book 1:

Michael is one of twelve angels who have been outcast due to their determination to protect mankind. In order to preserve his immortality and strength, he must find a mate with angel blood. Eva Smyth has never believed the propaganda spouted by the Consortium—the elite system of guards put into place once angels took over reign of Earth—but she never expected to learn the angels plan to eradicate all of mankind, or that she herself is part angel. Joining Michael means living a life on the run, at war against the angels and hunted by the Consortium. Eva must decide whether to risk it all…for love of an angel.

Angel’s Desire, Book 2:

Fallen angel Ethan has been outcast due to his love of humankind. In order to preserve his immortality, he must find a mate with angel blood…but the one woman he desires blames him for her father’s death. As a teenager, Tayla had a fierce crush on Ethan, her angel father’s best friend. She was humiliated when he rejected her, claiming she was too young for him. Her love turned to hate when he failed to save her father from being killed by the other angels.

Battle looms on the horizon, and Ethan can no longer afford to waste time. He must claim Tayla as his…but convincing her she’s his mate won’t be so easy.

For Want of an Angel, Book 3:

Fallen angel Aaron has found the woman of his dreams, an alluring nephilim who has no clue what she really is. By taking her as his mate, he can preserve his strength and immortality…something he’ll need in the fight against the angels who seek to destroy mankind. But first he must convince her that he and his Fallen brethren are not the evil beings they have been made out to be.

Samantha Benson has the ability to interfere with electrical signals, an attribute which makes professional thievery the perfect career for her. As if her special abilities weren’t enough to deal with, a fallen angel lands right before her and tells her she has angelic blood. He also expects her to believe the Fallen are really the good guys, and that the rest of the angels plan for human annihilation. Surely the sexy-as-sin Fallen is lying. But if so, then why do his words hold the undeniable ring of truth?

As the Fallen plan to infiltrate a secret prison built by the angels, Aaron must not only convince Samantha that mankind mankind needs her help, but also that the two of them are meant to be together…forever.

I love angel stories. These sound really intriguing. I love the paranormal. I love science fiction. I love the thought of strong arms circling me, with soft touch of his wings as he lifts me and we soar in the sky. Sigh. Keep writing so I can keep reading. Mary

I like angel stories where angels aren’t the conventional sort which would be boring to me! To be honest though it does depend on the story itself! The idea of angel warriors who are a little bad ass with a sense of humour is very appealing!

I really find angels to be extraordinary. They are the ultimate immortal. Based on the stories, they have been here since before the creation and will be here through the end of days. They are loving beings and yet, fierce warriors. An amazing combination!

I do very much enjoy romances featuring angels… I think it’s all that goodness and light and how it could also be the opposite and angels could be bad and from the darkside. Either way it works for me:)

I enjoy romance featuring angels one of the things that draws me is seeing them deal with conflict and human emotions

I’ve been on a dystopian fiction kick lately. I think for me its a bit fresher than angels as I’ve read alot of angel stories lately. I’m intrigued with the concept of starting over and how we would react if the world we currently exist in, was no more. What would your actions be and what would they tell about you.

I’m not sure what dystopian is. I do like to read some angel stories.
The covers for your angel books are fantastic. Most of the angel books I’ve read lately have been more about fallen angels, so they aren’t all pure and innocent. Ive really liked them, so what does that say about me? hahaha

I love romances featuring Angels.I think its the light vs dark, goodness vs evil, and the peace and joy.

  • September 14, 2012 at 7:53 pm

I love both. I love angels because of the various takes authors put on them. Nothing is ever the same! I love dystopian because of how different the world are and how they make the characters tougher and more about survival!

I have wanted to get into your books for awhile now. What made you choose the names for your characters? Were you inspired by some one in particular of the characters ask to be named themselves? sdylion(at)gmail(dot)com
