Book Tour & Giveaway (US/Int): A tantalizing chat with FALL’s sexy Xamien from author Cindy Paterson

by davincikittieJune 5, 2013

Please welcome Xamien, the Taldeburu from Spain in Cindy Paterson’s novel FALL…

This is the 3rd book in the Senses Series and can be read as a standalone. JUMP is book 1 and STEP is book 2.

Xamien sits across from me, legs out, ankles crossed, his hand lightly turning the coffee mug on the table. The corners of his lips twitch upward as I meet his stare and I feel my stomach drop. He has to be at least 6’5 with those long lean legs. All lean muscle with an exotic flavor about him. And there is definitely a glint of mischief in his obsidian eyes.

“Xamien welcome. I hope travelling here wasn’t too much of an inconvenience.”

His brows rise and I can’t help but be drawn into him. I can see why Delara finds him attractive. “Considering I’ve been here before, I was able to Trace. So, not an inconvenience at all, sweetness. Besides, it is always a pleasure to sit with a beautiful woman.”

I quickly look away and feel my face heat up. A hot and powerful Senses leader is flirting with me. “Umm yes good. Tracing. Only Taldeburu’s can do that I understand.”

“Among Senses—yes.” He raises his mug and hesitates before he places it to his mouth while asking: “Is Delara joining us?”

“No. I’m afraid not.”

He gives a curt nod.

“Okay so I few a few quick questions. They are meant to be answered with one or two words, but feel free to expand. Sound good?”

“Babe, it’s all good.”

Doesn’t he call Delara that? And Kitten. He often refers to her as Kitten. I look at my sheet of questions and cringe. What a way to break the ice. “Okay…umm, well, what turns you on?”

“Complete submission,” Xamien says. No hesitation with his answer and his eyes are on me. Wow, talk about intense. It’s as if his hands are stroking my skin, lips slowly…oh I so have to stop.

“Yes, well…what turns you off?”

“No.”

“Excuse me?”

“I don’t like being told no.” No, I imagine he wouldn’t.

“Dog or cat?”

“Horse. When they give their trust it is without limits. Earn it and you have the most remarkable animal as a friend. Complete loyalty and respect.”

Submission? I laugh to myself. “Yes. They are magnificent animals and big. I can see why Delara was hesitant to ride Xadea.”

Any hint of playfulness vanishes and I want to kick myself for being so thoughtless. “Favorite word?”

“Please.” Figures. Begging was something he mentioned often in FALL.

“Least Favorite?”

“Sweetness, no chance on me saying the word, but no woman’s body part should be used in a derogatory manner. A woman’s body is something to be worshipped.”

“Like Delara’s?”

Silence. I notice his brows go up and he tilts his head as if he is surprised by my boldness. His finger is drawing circles on the table. My body tingles as I think of him drawing circles on me. Hot. Oh, God, I can feel the heat in my cheeks and have to look away, but can’t because his eyes are mesmerizing and I didn’t have a long time with this hot sexy guy and—

“Yes,” He interrupts my thoughts. “She is a woman. A woman to be worshipped and taken care of. As every woman should be.” I close my mouth and stop staring and…was I drooling? I rub my hand over my mouth to make certain then take a few deep breathes before I meet his eyes again. The moment I do I notice the laughter. “Babe, never deny what your body craves.”

Holy shit. Moving on big time. “Umm yeah, I’m disturbed by the CWO Lilac.”

“Yes. Waleron’s nemesis. The beautiful Lilac is cunning, resourceful, and deadly with her webs. It’s unfortunate what Jasmine did to Waleron.”

Tragic really. “Is there an enemy you could like?”

“Sweetness, they’re called our enemies for a reason.” He chuckles. “But, there is a vamp that I care about. However, the tables have changed regarding her actions as of late.”

I know exactly who he’s talking about and I’m concerned about her as well. “Xamien, thank you so much for being here and chatting with me.”

He stands and I’m overwhelmed by his tall, compelling form. There is this aura about him that says don’t mess with me. I decide it’s in the way he carries himself, confident and self-assured. I really don’t think anything could make this guy scared or be embarrassed.

“Yes it would be foolish for any to…as you say, ‘mess’ with me.”

He just read my mind and spoke to me telepathically. Holy crap.

I stand up, but my legs are a little wobbly and he graciously takes my elbow to steady me. The sexual tension he exudes has my breath hitching and I realize how easily a woman could fall under this man.

He laughs. “Under. I like that.”

“Ah…well yes. Thank you for being here Xamien. I look forward to reading about you in Cindy’s next Senses novel.”

“The pleasure is of course, all mine. Thank you for having me on Grave Tells.”

“Oh would you happen to know what the next book is called?”

“No, but if you agree to dinner I will call Cindy and find out.”

He takes out his cell. I bite my lower lip. Hmmm, well what harm could come of a dinner be with a Senses warrior?

“Okay Xamien. You have a deal.”

Xamien presses one number. Cindy is on speed dial it seems. “Hey Cindy, you have that title yet for the next book?” He listens and I shift uneasily under his intense stare.  Is he reading my thoughts? “No, can’t do it. I’m taking her to dinner. I will thank her for you. I’m coming by later and no is not an option for you.”

I notice his body tense and wonder what the author is saying to him. Maybe threatening deletion?

“Not happening. Keep it unlocked or you’ll be buying another door.” He presses End and slips the cell into his back jean pocket.

“No title. But I’m treating you to dinner in appreciation for having me on your blog.” Xamien gestures to the door.

“Shall we?”

I wonder if I’m making a huge mistake as I nod.

Fall (Senses #3) by Cindy Paterson

FALL, The Senses series book #3

“He’s destroying me—us. I need him like my next breath, yet I’m suffocating.”

An unrequited love that has ripped her to pieces.

Delara has loved Waleron for over a century. Their intense chemistry is sensual, gripping, irresistible. But tragedy struck, and after sixty-one years of believing he was dead, Waleron returns a tortured man. He claims the man she loves is dead, yet the undeniable sexual tension still pulls them together.

“I am no longer the man you love, maitagarri. I am incapable of it.”

Waleron has given his oath to protect the Senses. He will sacrifice everything for them. But there is one Senses he has vowed to protect more than any other—Delara. He will do anything to make certain she is safe, even if it means he must deny her the love they once shared.

She is the hunted.

Delara’s life is in jeopardy and Waleron will do anything to protect her. But he never suspected that Xamien, the man he brings to help protect her is way more important to her than he ever knew.

Torn between two men and hunted by another, Delara must fight her hardest battle—herself.

About the author

author Cindy PatersonI am Xamien’s secret lover. Well, in my head I am and since I’m single this is completely allowed. Some of you may ask, who is Xamien, don’t worry you will meet him soon enough, but no falling in love with him. He is all mine.

Writing books is a fantastic way to have adventures that are impossible to have otherwise. I mean do you really want to fall in love with Waleron? He is so unstable and would never pick up after your dogs or clean the litter box. Not to mention the fact that he is always out killing disgusting grave robbing bug people.

Curling up with a good book and losing yourself to another time and place is the greatest reward. Being able to feel a character’s emotions, their fears, pain and love. Now that is incredible. I relish in the books that stay with me long after they have ended. This is what I strive for in my writing. To give the readers, and myself, an escape into another world, my world.

I have been writing since I was twelve. My parents, sorry mom and dad, would send me to my room for an hour every night to do homework, and instead I wrote stories. Oops, guess that is why I did so bad in math.

I have never stopped writing since then and never will. It’s like an addiction, but a good one. I adore stepping into the shoes of a character and deciding their fate. The characters are why I write. I want to fall in love with them (even the bad ones), so that I care about what happens to them in a story. If I can’t care about the characters then why bother with the story.

I live in Toronto with a menagerie of pets that keep me on my toes.

FALL, had me on the edge of my chair, I wanted to jump right in and escape with Xamien but pulled back, he’s already taken. Sorry Cindy, but he’s just mesmerizing.

Cindy has a way of drawing you into the story, while the real world around you, just fades in the atmosphere.

I love Love Triangle. I wonder if this is a menage de trois story or will Delara chose Xamien or Waleron. This is the type of book I would really want to read. Thanks for the interview and the book description.
