Book Playlist & Giveaway (US/Int): Jus Accardo’s Darker Days and the music that inspired it
Please help me welcome author Jus Accardo!
I love music. Who doesn’t, right? I love it so much, that I can’t really write without it. Playlists are a huge part of my fictional worlds, so today, I thought I’d share some of the Darker Days playlist and a little bit about why I picked some of the songs.
Marilyn Manson – Personal Jesus
This was the first song on the playlist. It screamed Jessie to me. She views what she and her Mom, Klaire, do.
Cage the Elephant – Ain’t no rest for the wicked
This also screams Jessie. She knows her moral compass doesn’t point exactly north like her mother’s and she’s okay with that. She’s doing what she can to help people, but will do whatever is needed to take care of those she loves. Right—or wrong.
This is very much the way Jessie is feeling as she gets to know Lukas. He’s unlike anyone she’s ever met and he really throws her entire universe off kilter.
No playlist is compleate without an awesome chase scene song…
Sick Puppies – You’re going Down (acoustic)
I love this song in its regular incarnation, but to me, the acoustic version was so much more Lukas…
The perfect kiss song for Jessie and Lukas!
Because, well, this is perfect.
You can find the rest of the Darker Days playlist here!
Have you read Darker Days? Is there a song or artist you think belongs on the playlist? Let me know! I’m always on the lookout for great music. 😀
Jessie Darker goes to high school during the day, but at night she helps with the family investigation business. Cheating husbands and stolen inheritances? They’re your girls—but their specialty is a bit darker. Zombie in your garage? Pesky Poltergeist living in your pool? They’ll have the problem solved in a magical minute. For a nominal fee, of course…
When gorgeous new client, Lukas Scott, saunters into the office requesting their help to find a stolen box, it sounds like a simple case—until the truth comes out. The box is full of Sin. Seven deadly ones, in fact. They’ve got five days to recapture the Sins before they’re recalled by the box, taking seven hijacked human bodies with them.
Easy peasy—except for one thing… There’s a spell that will allow the Sins to remain free, causing chaos forever. When the key ingredient threatens the life of someone she knows, Jessie must make the ultimate choice between love and family—or lose everything.
